Re the Moe and Hine story, I am going to have to back track a scene or two and re-tweak the last chapter. BUT I AM TRYING HARD TO RESIST THAT URGE – because it was something that I did with ‘The People Faces’ which is probably why it took me 8 years (that includes getting it published) to write it – I kept going back and rewriting chapters before I’d actually written a full complete draft.

We had Moe and Hine, who had taken off in Henare’s Holden (Moe’s ‘ex’), along with Princess the cat, who then did a tiko.  I was resisting this ‘nudge’ to write about tiko. And then I just couldn’t seem to get them past that scene. I had nothing coming to me. No sense of inspiration or great new way of describing the road trip they were embarking on. Because I had put an obstacle in the way.

On Monday I started a daily practise of writing one hand written page a day which I added to my list of 75 Hard rules. I started the 75 Hard Challenge – and its been an absolute god send and eye opener for me – but I will post about that next week – I might not be feeling so positive about it.

Surprise, surprise – the daily practise of hand writing 1 page a day, helped  ‘un-constipate’ myself with my writing. I know this stuff. I know that writing is about sitting your arse down and writing something every day. But I put it off because I felt ‘stuck.’ But deliberately using this book, I’d also use the days writing prompt….
