“At dawn we ride!": When the stars Pōhutukawa and Matariki converse

A POEM
3

I’ve been reflecting what Matariki and Puanga mean to me. This poem is a manifestation of the stars MATARIKI and PŌHUTUKAWA. Matariki, the star of health and wellbeing, the cluster Matariki and the star Puanga, heralding the Maori new year: “AT DAWN WE RIDE, BECAUSE WE CAN.”

Pōhutukawa – the whetu of remembrance, for those who have passed on: “FOR SISSY, CORRINE TE AU WATSON ” who began her journey to Te Rerenga Wairua on 2nd December, 2021.
